Make Music Waterbury
Make Music Waterbury, Sunday June 21, 2020. Waterbury participates in Make Music Day, the worldwide celebration of the summer solstice. Sidewalks, parks, front porches, and public spaces throughout the city become stages for local musicians to perform and for all to enjoy. The Valley Chordsmen will be moving around the city, singing on the Green, on sidewalks and at impromptu appearances in restaurants during the day.
Terrific Tuesdays is a series of summer concerts for the Waterbury community on Tuesdays in July in the 'front yard' of the First Congregational Church on West Main Street. Hot dogs and drinks are provided for concertgoers. We will be performing on Tuesday July 21 at 5:30 in front of the church.
Our Annual Show
Before there was “America’s Got Talent” and “The Voice,” and before there were guitars and pianos, people have been making music. And music in its purest form was the unaccompanied voice – what we today call a cappella singing. This year the Valley Chordsmen take you on a journey through the ages of a cappella music, from fifteenth century monks in monasteries to today’s classic barbershop style. Sit back, relax, and check out our roots, as we sing our way through 600 years of a cappella musical tradition.
Annual Show 2012
The Chordsmen kick off the Woodbury Christmas Festival with a Concert at the North Congregational Church, 11 Main Street North on Friday evening at 7 PM. We are joined for a portion of the concert by Femina Melodia, a women's a cappella group, for their very special version of Christmas music. We also perform a "free will offering" concert in the sanctuary of The First Congregational Church of Waterbury.
Time and date TBD.
